Excursion between the malghe under the Punta Cervina
A beautiful circular walk, which is very rewarding especially at the time of the alpine rose bloom. It blooms most beautifully in the area Rotmoos, a boggy valley between Hirzer and Pfandlspitze. In addition, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view from the foothills of the Stubai Glacier over the Texel Group and the Ötztal Alps to the Ortler Group.
From the mountain station of the cable car on Klammeben you follow almost the signs to the Tallner Alm, Mark. No. 40. From there we do not follow the ugly (and often muddy) alpine trail, but keep to the right on Mark. No. 2B, which climbs moderately up the valley of Rotmoos. Continue on, ignoring the turns to the right and left, and then descend gently downhill to the Mahdalm. From there you climb a bit steeper on Mark. No. 4 off to Gompm Alm. From there leads the Mark. No. 5B up to Hirzerhütte and continue to the right to the starting point.
Descent: From the Gompm Alm relies on Mark. No. 4 down on the forest road; numerous cutters are clearly recognizable and good to commit. Below Hochwies (wonderful view) but you stay on the road (the apparent cutters lead “into the Pampa”) and reaches the middle station of the cable car. Walking time plus ½ hour, difference in altitude plus 400 m in descent.
